Getting Out More In 2019 - Monday 3rd December, 10am to 12:30pm

This forum will focus on how we can all help young people with SEND find strategies to stay safe and feel able to get out and about more in 2019.

We are holding it on International Disability Day as helping young people with SEND to feel more confident is key to them preparing for adulthood.

Transport for London TFL) have agreed to attend the forum and to speak a few words about the measures they are putting in place to help young people with SEND.   We will have on the Panel reps from CAMHS, the Police, Disability Youth Service, Wandsworth Town’s Safe Zone, Wandsworth's Carer's Centre, Generate and HAIL (Travel Training and Travel Buddies 18+).

We will have a presentation from some independent travellers and parents, about what it means to them.

We would very much welcome input from you on this important topic.  Here are details of the forum:

Where: The forum will be held in Wandsworth’s Council Chamber from 10-12.30 on Monday 3rd December.

Who: It is aimed primarily at professionals and parents of young people with SENDs, together with some young people themselves, over 13 and not in school or college on the day.

What:    From it, we hope to develop fresh thinking about how to help young people with SEND to stay safe while getting out and about around Wandsworth in 2019 and beyond.
