Headteacher's Messages

Here you will find the various messages posted by the Headteacher throughout the school year.

April 2017

Dear Parents, Carers and Families,

Welcome back to everyone after an enjoyable Easter break.

This is a busy term in school, especially for Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5 students who are completing coursework and preparing for examinations and the Duke of Edinburgh expedition in June and July. Students will benefit from maintaining a healthy diet and having adequate rest.

Could I remind parents/carers to ensure that their child comes to school in full school uniform and arrive at school on time. The school provides a ‘breakfast’ club which is free to all students and staff.  Donations welcome.

I look forward to seeing you at some point during this term. Thank you for your continued support and very best wishes for the future.

January 2017

Dear Parents, Carers and Families,

Happy New Year to you all.  I would like to wish everyone good health and happiness for 2017. I hope you had an enjoyable Christmas break.

Staff and students have returned to school ready to work hard and uphold the values of the school.  It is an important time for many of our older students who are preparing for examinations and completing accreditation requirements.

Parents/carers and students have been informed that I will be retiring from my position as Headteacher in July 2017. Governors and the Local Authority have begun the process of finding my successor.

I look forward to seeing you in school during this term. As always your child’s tutor will continue to work closely with you and will be in contact throughout the term.

September 2016

Dear Parents, Carers and Families,

Welcome back to everyone after an enjoyable summer holiday. It was good to experience fine weather during the break from school.

Students in Years 11,12, 13 and 14 did really well in their examinations and gained some very pleasing accreditations. The staff are proud of these achievements and I am sure that you will join me in congratulating staff and students for their hard work.

Year 7 students are finding their way around school and becoming familiar with the routines and rules as well as starting to learn the names of staff who are supporting and teaching.

Could I remind parents/carers to ensure that their child comes to school in full school uniform and arrives at school on time. The school provides a ‘breakfast club’ which is free to all students and staff. Donations welcome.

I look forward to seeing you at some point during this term. Thank you for your continued support.
